Subject: Is the UN the answer for Africa?
Afri-Poke    2/8/2006 1:22:36 PM
Development, Empowerment, Globalization, Democracy, Economic Growth, Peace? Just curious how many on here think that the UN will eventually sort things out for Africa? I tend to believe that this will not be possible but I have only worked with the DPKO, UNHCR, and UNICEF portions of the organization. Thoughts anyone?

I must agree, the UN will never be able to help africa purely because in my opinion africa (in particular the black nations) doesn't want to be helped. Look at every sub-sahara african country, they all went the same direction since their independence as most of the north african countries as well. One of the biggest problems is greed, look at the corruption levels in africa as a whole and so I can continue for hours. I am very frustrated by it but now so are countless people in africa. Afri-Poke, I tried to e-mail you but my mail keep on getting rejected. Do you have another e-mail address I can maybe use, I have a couple of questions I want to ask you if you don't mind. Raven
