Subject: Canada increasing forces
Griffin    12/25/2005 1:17:45 AM
Canada is now scheduled to beef up its commitment with the move from Kabul to Khandahar. Ultimately 2,000 soldiers are being committed and it will lead the NATO force with a Brigade HQ. Khandahar was the first deployment location for the Canadian Army in January 2002. The PPCLI and our counter-terrorist unit JTF-2, won significant praise from the US military, winning US medals and a Presidential Unit Citation. This contribution, along with that of other NATO countries, is expected to supply some relief to US ground forces.
