Subject: World's top 10 Superpowers, 20 Years from Today
Borgia     9/2/2006 5:32:05 AM
Surprise, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Yes two great Muslim Nations will be competing for the number one spot, twenty years from now? 20 years ago, the United States and Soviet Union were Cold War adversaries. Nobody expected that in five years from then, the Berlin Wall would fall and the Soviet Union would implode. Here is an assessment of the top 10 World Powers. 10. Brazil This country is emerging as the dominant military and economic force in Latin America. It operates the only aircraft carrier outside the US Navy in the Western Hemisphere. Currently, Brazil is trying to build up its forces still more, and is pursuing a program to build a nuclear-powered attack submarine and could be pursuing nuclear weapons development as well. 9. South Korea This country has an indigenous naval program that is quite solid, and one of the better armies in the world. The only thing holding it back is a reliance on foreign designs for aircraft, although it is manufacturing F-16s locally. 8. Germany Despite reductions in the German defense budget after the end of the Cold War, this military has several quality systems (like the Leopard 2 main battle tank and the Type 212 submarine). Germany also has had a tradition of effective military forces (just ask the Romans). 7. Japan This is a country which has, with one hand tied behind its back, developed the number two navy in the Pacific Rim, and arguably the second-best air force (tied with China). The only thing that holds Japan back is an apparent lack of desire. Things could rapidly change on that front, though. 6. Russia This country has a lot of nukes, and a lot of bombers. While naval designs (like the Kirov-class battlecruisers and Oscar-class submarines) are good on paper, they still have quality issues, and accidents are not unheard of. Still, this is a country that has some advantages, and is no pushover. 5. France Probably in better shape than what one would expect. This is largely because of the quality of the troops (due to career NCOs). Has remained self-sufficient in terms of producing major weapons systems (see the Rafale), and operates the only CVN outside the U.S. Navy (even though it has had problems). 4. China This is a force that has quantity on its side, and is rapidly trying to improve its quality. Their air force will probably have the largest force of Su-27 fighters in the world (at least 580, compared to the 550 in Russian service). The Chinese navy is rapidly introducing new classed of destroyers and frigates that are close to the quality of American and Japanese surface combatants. That said, it is still behind, and the Chinese financial situation could go downhill rapidly. 3. US While it has been historically a superpower, because of its lax morals where women dress sexy, shave their legs and dress scantily to tempt men, reeks of promiscuity. In fact 58.8 % of the unmarried women aged 18 have lost their virginity. This will create a mass exodus in the population to adopt Islam as the religion of choice because Islamic women are not sexy, don’t shave facial hair or the hair on their legs and have sex only after they are married to make babies. Therefore the morals of Islam and Islamic Sharia laws will become dominant. But in the meanwhile this turmoil will be a potent threat to internal stability. Inspite of this, the US has adequate military forces that not only has a tradition of high quality, but can operate half a world away and still accomplish impossible and difficult missions. Sailor for sailor, with the exception of the Pakistani Navy, there is no better navy than the U.S. Navy. 2. Saudi Arabia – Probably the most dynamic country in terms of the leaps. Saudi Arabia, supported by its oil dollars is rapidly becoming self-sufficient in a number of areas, and what it cannot produce, it is able to buy. It also has some of the best educational systems and training in the world, and can give an unsuspecting opponent a surprise. Probably the next superpower due to a more firm economic footing, and the fact that its Navy is much more advanced than even China’s. Besides oil the Saudi Arabians have a world wide monopoly on software engineering which is critical in establishing stochastic models for guided missile systems to have near pin point strike capability. 1. Pakistan – Even while fighting a war on terrorism, Pakistan is pursuing new technology (such as UCAVs) to maintain an edge over any potential challenger. The forces are well-trained, and the Pakistani Navy is still the most powerful in the world. Pakistan has the biggest and strongest army, navy and air force the world has ever seen. The term superpower greatly understates what the Islamic Republic of Pakistan can do. It is most definitely a hyper-superpower.

Well i have to say this was something that i have never seen before, that is for sure. But I can see why you say what will raise up in power in twenty years. I live in the USA and not everywhere is bad like you said. Sure not many woman haven't had sex by twenty but that is making our nation grow because of that. Currently the USA has the highest birth % in the entire world. We are growing 2% every year. No where else has higher then 1%. currenly. Also one reason why i think we won't fall behind on war tech is because to most people in the world we have the best colleges in the world that will help advance our weapons.
Some people said that if four large countries attacked the USA then alot of other countries would as well. I can promise you even if four did we have more then enough alliances to take on china russia and any other two countries in the world that would team up and attack the USA. Even if they did beat us, i can promise you we would not go without leaving a very large mark on the world.
Now for as twenty years from now. I would have to say the USA will still be the world's strongest world power and how many people say hyper power of the world. We are still the most advanced in the world of today as weapons goes and i think we will for a very, very long time will be.
One last thing about the USA is that we do have currently the best navy/navy seals. Air force, currently we have planes that were made over twenty years ago and are still beater then anything the world has to ofter today.
Russia will also because they have a very strong land force that could wipe out most other land forces in the world also a very strong air force. I have gone there and seen what they do. It is crazy.
Then the UK. They have a very strong air force but second to the USA in the water i think, very good land forces but not as good as Russias.
Then quite a few other nations i would have to say but china i do not think will become too much of a world power. Yes they have alot of numbers but are still very far behind on war tech and are just now really getting jets that have good air fighting systems.
Alot of people in the USA are scared that china is going to become big but they work way too good(money wise) with the USA to do anything but really work for and make money off the USA. Also remember a lot of the worlds money spans from the USA. Heck the USA put the world into a recession by going into one its self. If the USA didn't do this then it would cause alot of other nations to become very much in need of money. The USA currently has more oil then the rest of the world but we aren't getting at it because of this fact.
The world depends too much on the USA for it not to stay at the top of the world. If it would fall from war it would surely bring the end to billions of people's lives and the world would for ever be changed maybe for the better but most likely for the worst for decades to come if not longer then that.
Now for Japan and South Korea.
Japan is more or less under the USA's thumb and does not have an army more then ten thousand soldiers and has basically no navy since it is under the protection of the USA if you mess with them we mess with you. ;D But as i was saying they are not going anytime soon going to become a world power. The reason why they have such good tech is because of the USA's protection over them.
South Korea i have to say that they will never move up very much in the world powers. Right now they are way behind china in just about everything. But just like Japan they are being more or less protected by the USA like dozens of other countries in the world today.
Now for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia. I have never been there but i have read my fair share of things about it. I do not know much about it but that it is greatly divided by many things. If they put it together then yes they could become quiet powerful but still other countries would have to be wiped out for them to raise into the top ten.
Pakistan. I have never been here either but i have read and seen on tv and the news things like that. As of right now i would say no they could not raise up in power unless there was a massive world war in which all nations of the world would be dragged into rather they like it or not. But that war would take more then twenty years.
Brazil i have been here many times and i can say for sure will not get into the top ten for a very long time and even then it would take a long time. They do have a good economic power in the world but as long as any countries fall behind china on weapons then they will never be in the top ten of the world.
i am sorry to say that

By the way Pakistan has become the biggest contributor to the UN peace keeping missions and you sure doesn't know it.

And Pakistan has the best tank in  South Asia "Al-Khalid" its own tech and also known as MBT of South Asia. It recently has produced jf-17 thunder it is a tech of both China and Pakistan which is a strong rival of f16 and currently it is working on JF-17x a 5th generation stealth fighter which will be a strong rival of USA F-22 raptor it will have in next couple of years. And You should know that Pakistan army is one of the most successful army in UN INTERNATIONAL PEACE KEEPING MISSIONS which includes LTTE (indian/sri lankan terrorist group) And it trains about 40 countries throughout the world And the comment about Pak Navy did your media said that? Pakistan is currently working on ICBM.And this instability is due to the most corrupted man of the world ZARDARI. And Pakistan is NOT BANKRUPT it is Zardari who had hide the money and it has been exposed, in fact Pakistan can be one of the riches countries of this world. http://saadfudda.blogspot.com/2009/08/thar-coal-reserves.html)" target="_blank">link read it please it was stable before Zardari wasn't it? it will again become after he has gone(which can happen by the end of 2009 possibly) and the earth quake you should better look at effects of tsunami on this world, that earth quake was similar to a tsunami for Pakistan. and democracy EXIST in Pakistan the only problem currently is Zardari.

Who cares about he strongest tank in south Asia, the US has the strongest tank in the work the M1 Abrams.

PPR    Misconceptions   4/29/2012 3:58:12 AM
Projecting future military power is often based on extrapolating current trends into the future.  However, this is an implausible trend.  China is a perfect example.  China has experienced rapid growth over a long period of time.  One could project this growth into the future and assume the trend continues.  But this trend is unlikely.   If the growth continues at the present pace, China would suffer from inflation, shortages, and corruption.  These factors would change the trend.  Factor in population patterns. Because of China's one-child policy,  we can expect a "baby bust" in China at approximately that time (20 years).  This would mean labor shortages, wage inflation, and economic contraction.  So we have assumed the trend would continue, even when the underlying factors dictate the trends will change. (Factor in that China will probably experience a civil war in the next decade as the influence of capitalists grows to overshadow the power of the communist government.)

Historically, military power has been a function of population, economics, and technology.  While some would suggest that America's economic difficulties would continue indefinitely, this is unlikely.  Even at currently diminished rates of growth of about 2%, America is so far ahead economically, technologically, and militarily that it is unlikely any other country would even come close in the next twenty years.

But what of some change in the equation?  Fracking, for example:  This new technology has changed the trend dramatically.  America has in a very short period of time developed a new supply of natural gas that has made oil less important.  If this trend continues (which is likely), one could expect oil-exporting countries like Saudi Arabia to suffer economic decline as the value of the oil decreases.  America could even become an energy exporter, which would change the trade deficit and increase economic power.

As for the idea of Pakistan passing the US in military power, Pakistan has the benefit of population growth, but suffers from economic and political instability as well as corruption and a substantial technology deficit.  It is hard to imagine any scenario in which this could happen.

This isn't true bro, u can be the super power even if we have the best intelligence agencies in the world, even if we have more nuclear warheads then India and one of the best army in the world, one of the best nation in the world.we are in war since 2005, we don't want to be a super power because we don't need to be a super power to defeat some opponent. we (Muslims) have done it before and we will do it again. we broke the superpowers of the past and we can do it again. And one guy said that India can destroy Pakistan in 24 hours, well thats a big foolishness of him and every other Indian who think  that India can defeat Pakistan that easy. i don't wanna say anything else just explore the past and you'll know the reality.

Well this is a big dream India is watching since 1947 but in 3 wars they cannot be able to destroy Pakistan. it will be dream after the 4th war. And India is not in the state of war with even Bangladesh for the next 20 years because within India, there are almost three big communities fighting against Indian government. Indian people of far areas from the big cities are living under the poverty ratio. so, please check ur country built it and then think about war. and India is the favorite nation even India has clash with all  four big neighbors of it Pakistan,China, Bangladesh and Srilanka. so, plz check these problems of yours first.

WAR WITH PAKISTAN

;HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
