The situation in Nepal clearly shows that India cannot provide leadership to this part of the world. Topcat Kathmandu

The situation in Nepal clearly shows China to be an aggressive and violent state, without any sense of common decency, for civil rights or the rule of law. India's weakness in this regard makes American aid for the Nepalese government all the more imperative.

DrCruel, I agree that India is being pretty reticent in regards to confronting the maoist menace. The problem is that in Nepal there are a lot of India-baiters who will jump at the chance to bash India over any involvement in Nepal's internal affairs. I feel that the India-haters among the Nepalese leftists need to be confronted head-on. They are typical knee-jerk reactionaries who only know how to blame India for everything under the sun. I don't claim that India is a perfect country, but these emotional nutcases are willing to harbor the most bizarre paranoia about Indians, which doesn't help matters one bit.
