Naw. Just kidding... This just in from the U.S. House of Representatives-
"WASHINGTON (CP) - An American congressman wants Congress to commend Canada on its commitment to the Afghanistan mission.
Indiana Republican Dan Burton is asking legislators to support a resolution recognizing Canada's vote this week to extend the mission by two years into 2009.
Burton, who chairs an international relations subcommittee for the House of Representatives, says the Canadian vote is a great success story for the U.S.-led war on terror.
He also says it's a telling sign of Canada's enduring friendship with the United States.
Burton's resolution notes that 24 Canadians were killed in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and that Canada has lost 17 soldiers in Afghanistan.
It says Canada should be commended for its commitment to fighting terrorists in that country, as well as efforts to combat poverty and narcotics."
Indeed. Thank you for your interest and assistance. I know Hamid Karzai is deeply affected,
"The president expressed particular anguish over the death of the Canadian soldier, Capt. Nichola Goddard, who died Wednesday in a battle with Taliban attackers in Kandahar. "Our land is being protected by a lady from Canada, when we should be protecting her as a guest," he said."
Thanks, guys. Again, my condolences to Capt. Goddard's family and friends, and to Canada, whom we owe so much.
