Lessons learned:

This is not the first time, probably won't be the last time, be prepared.

how yakeepi are you supposed to be prepared for this kind of thing?  bout the best you can do is to put the guy down as fast as possible which is essentially what the police did about 4 minutes after they arrived on the scene.

There were police already at the college on an unrelated matter:

As there was a police officer at columbine.

It's good to see the Canadians recognize that the best way to deal with these kind of people is to blow them away ASAP before they can kill more people.  Hope our people have learned the same lesson.   No more touchy feely stuff.  That kind of thinking in part was responsible for 9/11.
Pacifism kills.

Yeah, I see that and that's why I said it's good luck this time.

As for being prepared Ehran the guys in Ottawa already started fighting, and let us see what the result is.

something to do with a drug investigation i think.  it's a good sized college though so who knows if that was much of a factor really.  7300 full time students makes for a good sized campus.

news says he was hit in the arm by police then suicided.  still it beats the whole drawn out 3 ring circus of a trial.
