Today, Minister of Defence Peter McKay formally announced that the Conservative Government will be correctly a terrible wrong by the anti-military Trudeau Liberal government and its successors when in 1968 they introduced 'unification' and removed the names Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Canadian Navy and replaced them with Maritime, Air and Land Commands.
The Liberal Party of Canada's anti-military stance was best capsulized by former Prime Minister Jean Chretien who said the military was just another department. No wonder I called him 'Cretin'!
It is nice to finally have a government that understands the military's ethos, traditions, naming conventions, etc. are based on great deeds and sacrifices. |
