but in 1973 , so 30 years ago. the democratically elected pres. Allende committed a suicide after a coup of Pinochet , a very good friend of the US CIA. And the thousands of people killed by this dictature sponsored by USA.

The US has supported many brutal dictators over the years. The US-backed overthrow of Allende is a disgusting chapter in US foreign policy. Pinochet's dictatorship caused nothing but pain and suffering for the people of Chile. Meanwhile, the US was supporting his government. So much for US rhetoric about "defending freedom"
