http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1356645/A-weapon-mass-destruction-U-S--Shock-confession-Customs-officer.html Look at the video. Some poor customs official almost creates a public relations disaster for the Department of Homeland Security. Of course some devices have been found, Terrorists have been after the US for DECADES. In all that time I would be shocked if at least bio-weapon or IED in a freight shipment had not been smuggled. So ita no surprise. Let's not blow it out of proportion. Just make sure that the guy interviewed knows how to lie on camera, huh? H.

Sadly, the most likely result of this event is only that this poor schmuck will get ripped a new one for kinda-sorta saying no more than what everyone is sure must be the case and would surprise no one if it were finally officially acknowledged.

Don't understand why the guy should have to lie.  DHS has a poor public reputation as a whole.  Showing that the agency has had some successes, or in the case of intercepting an actual WMD, major successes would provide some meaningful evidence that it can be useful and effective.

Depending on what you term bio-weapons they aren't unusual at all.  Especially considering that you sometimes get homegrown wackos growing castor beans in their basements.  Its just good that few people know how to do it well.
