Subject: Obama Admin. Scandal Coverup?
CJH    9/3/2011 3:32:37 PM
New questions, possible cover-up, surface in ATF Fast and Furious probe "Two top Republican lawmakers say Arizona prosecutors “stifled” attempts by agents for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to interdict weapons purchased by “straw buyers” in that state that later were “walked” to drug smugglers in Mexico, and may have covered up the fact that two of those weapons were found at the scene of the killing of a U.S. Border Patrol agent." Photo Caption - "** FILE ** In this Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, picture, a hearse containing the body of U.S. Border Patrol officer and former U.S. Marine Brian Terry drives past a line of law enforcement officers from various departments lined up along Seven Mile Road outside Greater Grace Temple in northwest Detroit after Terry’s funeral service. The ATF is under fire over a Phoenix-based gun-trafficking investigation called “Fast and Furious,” in which agents allowed hundreds of guns into the hands of straw purchasers in hopes of making a bigger case. Two of those weapons were found in December at the fatal shooting of the Border Patrol agent. (AP Photo/The Detroit News, John T. Greilick)" WASR series rifles

Mexico's attorney general also said the U.S. has not apologized for the violence inflicted by guns smuggled into Mexico under the watch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the secret program based out of the ATF's field office in Arizona. Morales characterized the operation's main tactic, letting guns "walk" into Mexico, if, she said, that is what actually happened, as a potential "betrayal."

CJH    New Fast and Furious docs released by White House   10/1/2011 4:24:45 PM
New Fast and Furious docs rele...

"Late Friday, the White House turned over new documents in the Congressional investigation into the ATF "Fast and Furious" gunwalking scandal.

The documents show extensive communications between then-ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix office Bill Newell - who led Fast and Furious - and then-White House National Security Staffer Kevin O'Reilly. Emails indicate the two also spoke on the phone. Such detailed, direct communications between a local ATF manager in Phoenix and a White House national security staffer has raised interest among Congressional investigators looking into Fast and Furious. Newell has said he and O'Reilly are long time friends."

Fast&Furious is at least 10x worse than Watergate in terms of damaging the national security as well as pissing Mexico off. LightSquared is 100x worse than Watergate in terms of daming the national security, and could be more harmful to Obama admin than Fast&Furious. It is designed to be corruption related to political contribution and they don't care whether the satcom system may screw the military GPS signal.

In a classic Friday document dump -- a sure sign of an administration with  something to hide -- the feds released to congressional investigators a month’s  worth of e-mail correspondence in the summer of 2010 between Bill Newell, then  head ATF agent in Phoenix, and his friend Kevin O’Reilly, a former White House  national-security staffer for North American affairs.

What do you know? Among the e-mails was a photograph of a powerful Barrett  .50-caliber rifle that had been illegally purchased in Tucson and recovered in  Sonora, Mexico, raising the possibility of a second “gunwalking” program, this  one called “Wide Receiver.”

“These documents raise as many questions as they answer about which senior Department officials knew what about Operation Fast and Furious.  In addition to these documents, getting at the truth also requires taking testimony from the key officials involved.  The Attorney General’s denials of any personal knowledge will have to be tested against all the evidence as our investigation continues, just as the Department’s initial denials were.”

I know. This example also reminds me of the subject of former Democrat governor Zell Miller's keynote address to the 2004 GOP convention in which Miller complained about his party's recent tendency to put party before country. Miller was talking in reference to the liberals' scorched earth war against Bush's prosecution of the war on terror.

Obama and his party are so intent on getting an electoral majority in which Hispanics will be a critical part that he and they will promote a narrative emphasizing the role of smuggling of guns from the US into Mexico to the exclusion of one emphasizing border security.
