Muslim Up' s a snook at US   Tokyo, March 15 Three French Muslims of Arab descent have made their share of contribution to the boycott US products campaign, which has gained momentum recently, by setting up a beverage company under the name of 'Muslim Up for Beverages.' "No to War, Yes to Peace. We want to see birds of love hovering high and not jet fighters" is the banner carried by the company, whose products have taken the French markets by storm in just one month. And in order to lure more consumers and strengthen their foothold in the French market, the company created the slogan of "A Drink Different From Drinks To Serve The Others" this week, says The French Liberation newspaper. "The Others means peace-loving organisations and communities," the daily quoted Khobayeb al-Husni, one of the three owners, as saying, reports Japan Today. They also launched a Web site to promote their drink, describing it as a "drink for all who boycott the Zionist products and US trademarks." "This French drink is an alternative to US products, which finance the weaponry which claims the lives of innocent people. Muslim Up is the drink of a generation fully mindful of Arab's burning issues," read a prelude on the Arabic section of the Web site. On the reason of producing the drink at this time, the Web site said it has been produced in protest at the looming US-led war on Iraq, which "is only aimed at treading on human dignity." They also denounced Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people. "We launch our project with the Israeli occupation army still determined to nip the peace process in the bud," they underlined. Meanwhile, another Frenchman, Gerard le Plain, has launched "Arab Cola" beverage. "I will allocate part of the profits to the organisations concerned about helping poor Arab countries to overcome environmental crises. I hope that Arab Cola would find a thriving market in France, the US and the Middle East," le Plain told Liberation newspaper.ANI
