Here in New York, we never went off "Orange Alert" and when the rest of the country, we go to "Orange Plus", which I believe is "Mango Alert" in the Bronx, "Tangerine Alert" in Brooklyn and Queens, and "Orange, Fresh Squeezed, With Pulp Alert" for Manhattan. I'm not sure about Staten Island.

I think if you plotted the homes of all the posters on these boards onto maps, the world would be divided into the NYC Metro Area- big black splotch- and "Outlying Areas"- the rest of the world, speckles across the US and UK and a fwe dots scattered across the rest of the world, with a bit more than average in the Netherlands and India. And Denmark. Thomas is from Denmark, and by virtue of statistics, that makes Denmark far more heavily represented per capita and per area than most other nations.

I am a born and bred Long Islander, deep family roots in "the city", worked the 5 boroughs for many years. Retired and bought an apple orchard in Illinois. Love the Mid-West, miss the Big Apple, especially the ocean. Anytime I return, I drive from Freeport to Point Look Out, then along the causeway to Captree. What a country!
