Not sure about the tragedy for the war against terrorism. 1st The demands of the nomination could force him to write less articles educating the public and offering a counterview to the leftists. This may be better for the battle for public opinion. (OK Selfish reasons I admit because I like to read his articles and I want him to write a lot) 2nd Pipes may continue to have contact with the Bush administration and advising them in an unofficial manner. He could have more influence this way. 3 This leaves the nomination open for American Kafir ;-) It is a shame that Daniel Pipes doesn't get the nomination he is one of the few Middle East experts that make any sense. He really deserves that nomination. However these terrorists could find out that you can't keep a good man down. This behaviour exposes these terrorists even more and makes Pipes an even bigger problem for them.
