Subject: The Stakes of the War

A Hamas statement concerning their recent suicide bomber- this one should concern everybody- from the Check Points in Israel to the great Capitals of the West to the philosophers in Parisian Cafes: "She is not going to be the last (attacker) because the march of resistance will continue until the Islamic flag is raised, not only on the minarets of Jerusalem, but over the whole universe," - Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar. There is no neutrality. This is everybody's war, and Bush was absolutely right. With an enemy like this, there is no peace short of absolute victory. Bush said "you are either with us or against us" and Hamas has said the same- you are either with Hamas or against Hamas. I really hope certain people figure out which side they should be on.

>>Then you throw in the a rabid hatred of the state of Israel (or even Jews in general). How can the message be paradise with 70 perpetual virgins (I'm confused about what female bombers get), straight out of an infallible text, and not accept that it's an endemic problem of Islam.<< The promise is 72 dark-eyed perpetual virgin females (or 72 raisins with perputual virginity, depending on the translation) and 28 "fresh" young boys. Given that child molestation is one of those widespread traditional cultural nuances in the Arabic world that we're supposed to celebrate as an example of our diverse, multi-cultural global village, I'd say both the 72 girls and 28 boys are useful to both male and female "martyrs." You're just going to have to accept that Islam is the religion of peace. Or they'll kill you.
