http://www.strategypage.com/messageboards/rulesofuse.asp Violate the terms in the above link (also hyperlinked on this page as "Rules of Use" and Sysops deletes you. Mainly it happens from people posting the same baseless attacks that we all have seen before and the gorup is tired of debunking the same old falsehoods.

Who are the individuals that make up sysops (are they posters themselves?) and what criteria do they use to determine whether or not an attack is 'baseless?'

"what criteria do they use to determine whether or not an attack is 'baseless?" The criteria are something called "facts" - you may have heard of them? The SYSOPS(1) are a dark and mmysterious cabal of "managers" who represent the best interests of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. By use of automated keyword selection, various inappropriate posts (and those who post them) are removed from the board, banished, have their dogtags bent and are sent to fallujah with their Identity cards stamped, "No Dessert". Any other silly questions not related to the title of this board, which you may have failed to notice, called "Terrorism"? On a serious, and only slightly less sarcastic note, if you have read and do not understand the Terms of Use, you need to turn off your computer, box it up, and ship it back to where ever it came from. :-) E.

You should avoid sarcasm - clearly not a strength. I posted the question here because many discussions I have read on the Terrorist board are missing statements. These missing statements are the work of individuals who have been removed by sysops. It is difficult for readers to follow the flow of arguments when much of the discussion has been removed. I'm not necessarily interested in the points of individuals who have been removed but I am interested in the reasons for them being removed. In the absence of their posts it is impossible for one to determine the reasons for their removal other than knowing that they have violated the terms of use. I believe my question to be valid and I would be interested in knowing how one can make a complaint to sysops.

I hope not... but then, I don't make a point of antagonizing or questioning the SYSOPs policies... and if I cross the line, I'm warned, have my posts pulled, just like any other poster. I've had my hands slapped on occasion... but that wasn't for sarcasm - I outright ad homenym attacked someone. 'course, it doesn't matter what an ignorant, obsessive, warped troll they were - I was wrong, I got slapped down. fair is fair. course, after a few posts the trollish moron got nuked, booted, banned. there is crossing the line, then there is REALLY crossing the line. :-) E.

make a post. and actually I rather like sarcasm. comes from being around Brits for many years. You want to complain to SYSOPs? make a post on the appropriate board (where ever the offending post is at) titled: "SYSOPS - Help" and then explain what you have found and have a problem with. Still, if it doesn't fall under the Rules of Use, or the Protocols, they may not do anything. Does that answer your question? You are asking some strange questions IMHO and therefore you have opened yourself up to some "strange" answers. Now, can we get back to discussing Terrorism? E.

Sorry, that was NOT supposed to be a double-post. my bad. guess my mouse is set too fast. never does that sort of thing elsewhere... I wonder if it's related to the "last letter" glitch? E.

SGTObvious    Who are the Sysops?   4/14/2004 11:41:14 AM
I'm thinking either the "grays" from Zeta Reticuli or maybe time travellers from Earth's distant future. When you think about it, nothing else really makes sense, right?

Of course! ::smacking forehead:: Here I was thinking it was like, E.T. or something - no, the "Grays" make much more sense. although the possibility of time travel does lend some credibility to their near-prophetic ability to pick trolls and bounce them, nearly before a reply can be formatted! ;-) E.
