Subject: Gary Busey, Traitor
Amorphous Blob    2/20/2006 9:19:11 AM
In a Turkish movie, Gary Busey plays an American doctor who is enraged when Iraqi prisoners are killed by American troops before being brought to Abu Ghraib so he can harvest their organs and send them to Israel. I don't have the time to look up the story I read in the paper yesterday, but here's the first Google story I found. http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=21154

"But if an American actor plays in a film which has evil American aharacters, they became suddenly traitors." -- Pars ---- Well, let's say it's a film about the following: In a Turkish movie, American actor X plays an American doctor who is enraged when North Vietnamese and Viet Cong prisoners are killed by American troops before being brought to a prison in Saigon so he can harvest their organs and send them to Israel. Aside from being an equally absurd plot that also has no shred of basis in reality, consider the difference (if any?) based on the timing of the movie. While merely pathetic if such a movie is made in 1980, it's a bit more than just pathetic if it's made in 1970. Displacedjim

I agree that it is an absurd plot. And that is my point. That is just a film. A film is not reality. It is a fiction.

A film can be much more than entertainment, as every work of fiction since Gilgamesh and the Iliad has been.
