The Royal Australian Navy has asked for bids on up to eight "amphibious watercraft" for use by its amphibious ships. (While not necessarily hovercraft, these would perform the same role that hovercraft perform for the US Navy's amphibious ships.) Each craft will be expected to carry between 35 and 50 metric tons. The craft will be operated by the Army's 10th Force Support Battalion.--Stephen V Cole
