The Belgian Army will issue a new Request for Proposals for a new 4x4 reconnaissance vehicle. The buy is to include 121 vehicles, plus two options for 24 more each. These are to replace the old Scimitar tracked vehicles. The Belgians tried this last year and narrowed the search to the British Scarab and the Dutch Fenneck, but then found that neither of these vehicles met the requirements. These two vehicles are considered the front runners for the new "more flexible" requirements.--Stephen V Cole
