The Army is to release its formal request for proposals for the Common Missile, a new weapon that will replace the Hellfire and TOW anti-tank missiles. The missile will have a diameter of 152mm (able to fit TOW tubes), have a longer range than Hellfire, and will use a multi-mode sensor. The British, the US Navy, and the Marines are reportedly interested in buying into the program.--Stephen V Cole
