Despite having little money for research and development, Russia continues to work on a next generation tank. The rumored, revolutionary, "T-95" has yet to get beyond the planning stage. But a more pragmatic new tank, the "Black Eagle" has gotten to the mockup stage. This tank is a cross between the U.S. M-1 (ammo storage in rear of turret, thick armor and good sensors) and Russian (auto-loader, 125mm gun) design concepts. But there's no international market for new tanks at the moment, and the Russian army cannot afford to buy them.
