China has announced it has developed a depleted uranium shell for it's 100mm tank gun. This gives the 100mm gun about 20 percent better penetration. The Chinese are probably also developing depleted uranium for their more powerful 105mm and 125mm tank guns. It's thought that the new Type 98 tank (in limited production, perhaps only 30 or so made so far) would also get depleted uranium shells for its 125mm gun. The Type 98 has much better fire control. China has bought tank shell technology from Israel and tank technology (and tanks) from Ukraine (where many tank factories were built during the Soviet period.)
