Spain has selected the US-built turrets armed with a 40mm grenade launcher and a .50-caliber machinegun to equip its sixteen new Piranha-III 8x8 armored personnel carriers. This turret is an improved version of the one mounted on the US Marine AAV7A1 amphibious personnel carriers, but lacks the glass greenhouse.--Stephen V Cole
