The Navy isn't waiting for the Pentagon to decide how to replace the EA-6B jammer aircraft, but is moving ahead with its own EA-18G Growler. They have ordered a study from Northrop Grumman to determine now the Improved Capability-3 jamming equipment from the EA-6B can moved to a "carrier-capable aircraft already in production", a definition that only
