Infantry: Built To Fit And Protect

Archives

December 2, 2011: An Israeli firm (Plasan) that has developed and manufactured most of the lightweight composite armor for hummers and MRAPs over the last decade has also applied its talents to developing a superior system of body armor. The Israeli military began buying the Plasan body armor five years ago. The Plasan protective vests were designed to provide a more comfortable and flexible fit. The Plasan armor is built to handle American load bearing webbing and other accessories.

Plasan also builds portable, bulletproof shields which Israeli troops have used successfully in combat for several years. The more American troops get to know about Plasan body armor, the more demand there is for it. In the last 26 years, over a quarter million sets of the Plasan armor have been sold to military and police organizations.
