Information Warfare: Silencing Critics With A Good Hack

March 24,2008: In the United States, the FBI is investigating who hacked into the networks of an NGO (the Save Darfur Coalition) that has criticized China for its support of the Sudanese government. Chinese hackers are suspected of breaking into the Save Darfur Coalition computers. The same hacking operation is suspected of breaking into U.S. military, government and corporate networks. The U.S. Department of Defense has been quite specific in accusing the Chinese of organizing major hacking operations on U.S. government networks. Apparently the FBI concurs.
