December 16, 2007:
Each year, South Korea holds a
competition among its fighter-bomber
pilots to determine who the "Top Gun" will be for that year. This years
winner, Captain Lee Woo Beam, is, at 29, the youngest to ever win the reward.
Pilots compete in bombing and flying skills. Lee has been flying F-16s for
three years, and has 402 flight hours in the aircraft. This year, 300 pilots
from 30 squadrons competed in the Boramae Aerial Marksmanship Contest, which
has been conducted annually since 1960.
