The British want to sell the US their Nimrod aircraft to replace the US Orion's. The current US plan, which changes frequently, is not to further extend the service life of the P-3C Orion. The British know that no foreign aircraft could ever win a major US program contract, and hope to team up with Boeing or another US aircraft manufacturer who would officially build the Nimrod for the US Navy.--Stephen V Cole
