The U.S. Air Force is spending
another $100 million to continue repair of Keesler Air Force Base (AFB)
facilities damaged by Hurricane Katrina two years ago [PHOTOS]. About half of Keesler,
located on the Gulf coast of Mississippi, was under water during the storm,
which did about a billion dollars worth of damage to the base. Shut down for
less than a month after the storm, Keesler has been rebuilding itself ever
since. This has been a major training base since World War II, in addition to
hosting some combat units.
