The U.S. Air Force is buying two billion dollars worth of Paveway II laser guided bombs between now and 2009. More accurate than the cheaper GPS guided bombs, the new Paveway II (which has been in use since 1982) are expected to increase their accuracy and the ability of the laser designators to work through fog, smoke and the like.
