Greece has signed a $1.26 billion deal to buy one Type-214 diesel submarine from Germany (to be built by HDW) and then to build two more Type-214s in their own yards. The deal includes an option for a fourth submarine. The Greeks will receive two German Type-148 fast attack craft as part of the deal. --Stephen V Cole
