Counter-Terrorism: India Takes The High Ground

Archives

December 17, 2011: India has added UAVs and specially equipped helicopters to its urban counter-terrorism forces. Delhi and Mumbai have both been assigned a M-17 helicopter equipped with day/night vidcams and the ability to broadcast the video to ground stations in real time. In the event of a terror attack these helicopters will be able to provide video of what is actually going on down there. The Indian Air Force has also used UAVs to help deal with urban terrorism situations and now has new C-130J transports equipped to quickly move commandoes to any area under terrorist attack. These aircraft can operate in all weather and also possess the ability to receive video feeds.
