PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 15, 2011) An amphibious assault vehicle departs the well deck of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18). New Orleans and embarked Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are conducting pre-deployment work-ups as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group.
