  The US warned that the Taliban were planning on poisoning US food aid and then claim that American was trying to kill Afghans that way. This information was probably picked up via monitoring of Taliban communications. In true Information Warfare fashion, this information is being let out before it can do any damage to the American cause. 

Unguided cluster bombs are being used to attack Taliban troops out in the open. Several hundred bomblets spread out over a wide area, falling into trenches and destroying trucks and armored vehicles. American commanders said that unguided bombs from B-52s would also be used to carpet bomb Taliban troops as needed.
