Small attacks continue on US helicopters and bases. The attackers avoid confronting American troops directly. This is because they have learned that to do this usually fails, as the better trained and equipped US infantry outmaneuver and outfight them. Instead, they set up 107mm rockets aimed at American bases, and fired with crude timers. Accuracy is very poor, although eventually one of these may hit something. Some Afghans continue to fire at American helicopters, with little success. There are still a lot of weapons in Afghanistan, and US troops searching the hills continues to find these caches.
