Uzbek warlord Abdul Rashid Dostum has moved at least 2,000 troops (traveling on 400 horses and 200 vehicles) into northern Faryab province. Dostuns forces are advancing in three columns. Dostun has been ordered by the central government to halt this movement, but these orders are apparently been ignored. Faryab province is 400 kilometers northwest of Kabul, where Dostum has land disputes with provincial governors and other warlords.
