In the south, 32 people were arrested, including several foreigners, for planning suicide bombing attacks. Such attacks have not been common in Afghanistan, despite the presence of large numbers of al Qaeda members across the border in Afghanistan. Around Kandahar, there have been attacks on teachers, especially those who are teaching girls.
