  The long-feared Taliban/al Qaeda "Spring Offensive" has proven somewhat of a fizzle. Although the overall number of attacks has increased since the end of Winter, the increase has been neither significant nor sustained. At best, there have been spikes in attacks that last a week or two, followed by several weeks of "normal" numbers of incidents before the next spike.
