Afghan intelligence officials believe two recent suicide bombings were carried out by two of six Arab (probably Saudi) al Qaeda members who recently entered the country. Al Qaeda had largely abandoned Afghanistan, to concentrate on Iraq. But apparently the terrorist organization, noting how the Taliban terrorist organization is falling apart, has sent some reinforcements. 

In southern Afghanistan, soldiers captured two Taliban leaders, Abdul Haq and Mullah Idrees.
