In the southern city of Kandahar, Taliban killed a judge, while elsewhere two other government employees were killed. Across the border in Pakistan, Taliban gunmen have killed nine Pushtun tribesmen who have backed a government campaign against the Taliban. A similar campaign across the border in Afghanistan did not go well, making the Taliban even less popular and turning more tribesmen into active Taliban opponents.
