 Tuareg (nomads native to the Sahara) trackers working for the government, found a vehicle belonging to one of the European hostages held captive by Islamic radicals near the Libyan border. The vehicle was booby trapped, and two of the trackers were injured when they searched the van.  

Rebel violence so far this year has left at least 530 dead.
