Riots broke out in the highlands south of the capital, when word of government proposals to raise the price of butane gas fifteen percent. This gas is the main source of heating and cooking fuel in the cooler highlands, and lack of jobs makes it difficult to buy at the old price. Anti-government violence because of economic issues is growing, with another revolution over economic and corruption issues more likely.
