Serb opposition leader Zoran Djindjic issued a statement saying all Balkan governments need to focus on "democratization, economic development, and demilitarization" so that the Balkans could integrate with the rest of Europe. Djindjic said economic cooperation was much preferable to the "division and changes of borders" that afflict the Balkans. He added that the Kosovo War had been costly to all of the nations in the Balkans, since the war scared off investors in their economies.
