The Serb and Montenegrin government said that it would send peacekeeping troops to Afghanistan. The force could include up to 1,000 troops and police.

On October 4, SFOR reported its troops found 98 RPG (rocket propelled grenade) launchers in a sweep operation in Bosnia. The rocket launchers were found in the village of Brrdani (near Gradiska, northern Bosnia). On October 8, SFOR reported that its troops had seized over 120 tons of arms and ammo since early September. The 120 tons were collected from caches at 36 different locations in northwestern Bosnia. SFOR said the arms dumps were hidden by the former Yugoslav Army and the armed forces of the Serbian Republika Srpska.
