The 300,000 Hungarians living in northern Serbia have been receiving death threats from Serbian nationalists, who want to "purify" Serbia by driving out all non-Serbs. Several million Serbian refugees, driven into Serbia from other parts of the Balkans in the last decade, compete for scarce resources, and often turn on non-Serbs.
