The Uzbeks formed a brigade of 1,500 troops and went after the band of Islamic terrorists that were operating in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek troops tracked down the terrorists, killed fourteen of them, and lost three of their own troops. The terrorists were trained in Chechenya, as were many others from central Asia, then sent back home to overthrow the local governments and form Islamic republics.
