The Uzbek government continues to seek out anti-government activists. At least twenty were arrested in the last week in the Ferghana  Valley. This area is a major population concentration and largely Uzbek, even though the old Soviet borders gave a large chunk of it, including its Uzbek inhabitants, to  Kyrgyzstan.
