China has built bases for another 30 CSS-6 (M-9) and CSS-7 (M-11) in a coastal area within range of Taiwan. There are now more than 350 such missiles within range of Taiwan and China is adding to that number at about 50 new missiles a year. It is thought that by 2005 China will have 600 missiles installed and ready for use opposite Taiwan. The missiles and their mobile erector/launchers are stored in concrete bunkers. Each missile brigade has sixteen of these launchers and about 96 missiles.
