In 540 kilometers north of the capital, FARC ambushed a police truck, killing six policemen and the civilian driver. But a hundred kilometers further north, police liberated 49 hostages FARC had taken at a roadblock the day before. Police continued to search for ten other kidnapped civilians. The more aggressive police response to mass kidnappings has made them more vulnerable to these ambushes.
