Another group of 160 AUC rightist rebels took advantage of the government amnesty deal and turned in their weapons. Meanwhile, operations against leftist rebels continue, with two FARC members, who had earlier killed a Japanese businessman, captured. Other FARC groups are now concentrating on kidnapping government employees, in an attempt to cripple government operations, and obtain more ransom money.
