In Pakistan's capital, Iraqi and Iranian Kurdish refugees attacked a UN refugee office and took some UN officials hostage. Nearly fifty demonstrators were arrested. The Kurds were protesting the UN rejecting their requests for refugee status. On India's border with Bangladesh, border troops increased patrols to block a suspected arms smuggling attempt by Moslem militants.  In Kashmir, rebels attacked an Indian army camp, killing two soldiers and wounding another. The two attacking rebels escaped unharmed.
